xyxyx has really grown on me already to be one of my top tier favorite characters i have made. i think they are too cool to be a main character, i think they will do very well on the outskirts of a story, staying shrouded in mystery. the past few months i have been working on this project i have been trying to make each page perfection top notch quality, but i realized while i was reading Love Hina how quickly readers fly through comics. I just dont think its worth it to make each page look phenominal. I still want to make a great comic, but i think i have been approaching it wrong. a comic is different from other art for me. I want to make beautiful art, but i also want to tell a good story, and i want my story to be the main event, and the art to accentuate it. so i am thinking of making the comic sketchier, faster, and then i can get more into finishing it quicker and getting more material out there, and telling a great story. i was spending so much time on making panels look perfect, and eventually i realized that a reader will finish a page in less than a minute (even if i worked on that page 10 hours), and that was a wakeup call for me. I started actually putting up finished pages of this comic in may 2020, and i average about 2 pages a month. i feel my best drawing when i am sketching either digitally or in my sketchbook, so i think i will try to approach comic making more like that. i am impatient, and i want to put out my work faster, but i am so slow lol.
